Cadbury’s Dairy Milk – Eyebrow Dance

Added 23rd January 2009 by Keith

Advert: CADBURY’S DAIRY MILK – EYEBROW DANCE
Music: FREESTYLE – DON’T STOP THE ROCK

Following the gorilla playing drums and the airport trucks race, Cadbury’s and ad agency Fallon bring us another fantastic ad from ‘A Glass and a Half Full Productions’. Cadbury’s reckon 35 percent of the British public can move their eyebrows independently, of whom 18 percent are ‘fully eyebrow ambidextrous’.

Sorry Jay, the track IS “Don’t Stop The Rock”, by Freestyle (not Freestylers). Watch the video and then listen to the MP3 and they’ll confirm this.

    Sorry Nicki, it is not.

To clarify: The track used in the ad is Don’t Stop The Rock by Freestyle, which is an old electro track from around 1986.

This track was much later sampled / remixed by The Freestylers for Don’t Stop The Rock (Drop The Boom) around 1998. This track is slightly faster and more bass-heavy.

Although the tracks sound similar, they are not the same!

If you’d like to compare the two songs, listen to the sound clips here.

For anybody that knows about real hip-hop, you will know this is Freestyle from circa 1985, not the damn Freestylers! The stole the track, they did NOT make it – learn your music history people pleeeeeeeez! Right, wheres my lino and my Sergio Tacchini tracksuit for some backspins!!!!!!!

    tsk.. kids today!

This is the ‘original’ Don’t Stop The Rock. I have the original 12″ from 1985 :-P Pretty Tony is the guy behind the track to be honest. If you liked this track, hunt down ‘Jam The Box’; similar sounding but another classy piece of ‘proper’ electro.

I dont care what the name of the song is, I think it is the most stupid of commercials……what is the point of watching two kids act like idiots. Why not tell all the good reasons to buy cadbury chocolate, I can think of many……….

You all sound so silly arguing about the song title, just enjoy the advert for what it is. This advert always puts a smile on my face.

its hilarious that you all are arguing over a song title.
solution: type either titles into iTunes, and play both to see which one is right! haha
    i love this advert

Funny as I find it that there’s such a kerfuffle over a song name…
It IS Freestyle’s Don’t Stop The Rock.
It’s on the Ultimate Breakdance album, which I both listen to and sell at HMV.
Still, it’s a darn stupid advert.

    @sharlee
They don’t need to explain how good the chocolate is – it is the brand leader. This is not about introducing the product it is about brand reinforcement. So the ad aims to grab the attention then mention the product rather than talk about flavour. When did Coke last mention the flavour?

  21. Get over the song,, the advert is the winner.

This is called raising brand awareness.
