    If you YouTube it Linda Walton, it’s the very same recording of George.
    Bah humbug to Colin Fish!

    @colin fish
    Dear me Colin why the vitriol?
    This was Georges last recording a year or so before his death..a B side to banjo boy.
    I agree it doesn’t sound like George in his pomp but the song and style are inimitable.

    Hi carole the theatre is the Adelphi theatre in London,i know this as my son was lucky enough to film one of the sainsburys christmas commercials with Jamie,not the main one,dont know if you have seen the cheese one with the children dressed as mice sat next to Jamie and they take the cheese of the cheeseboard,my son was the mouse that had the giggle at the end.

    Clearly not George Formby singing but a some cheap recording artist trying his best to tarnish the great mans name. George himself never sounded anything like the demented gormless goon who is used on this version, those of you who think it is actually George must be suffering from ear cataracts. This is the worst advert i have ever seen from any country at any time of the year. Pathetic, demented and properly scary, it makes me want to take LSD just to escape it.

    well done definately the happiest song with a ukulele banjo on tv today .i sang this song for many years with a ukulele banjo and can still make people smile, i even sang this very song to george formbys brother in the 1970s WELL DONE SAINSBURYS [HAPPY GO LUCKY ME] TONY DEAN.

    I just love this tune. It ought to be released as a single.
    The advert is good too, every time it comes on it brightens my day.
    George Formby was great I wish there were more lighthearted music around today.

    Really love the new Christmas advert, but didn’t realise it was George Formby singing.
    It fits in with the current climate of smiling, even though we don’t have much money, and things ain’t funny. Well done, let’s have more like this!

    This needs to be no 1 for Christmas. GF is the greatest. Anyone know what week you have to download for the Christmas no 1?

    This is an extremely well put-together advert with wonderful video theme and the great George Formby belting out the message that you don’t have to spend a fortune to have a good traditional family Christmas. This is going to be one of the classic TV adverts. Will this soundtrack be a No 1 this year?
