The track in this Florette salad advert is from comedy troupe The Goons. Spike Milligan, Harry Secombe and Peter Sellers were the stars of the Goon Show, which ran on BBC radio throughout the 1950s. (A fourth Goon, Michael Bentine, left in 1953.) They subsequently reformed to record occasional TV shows and records into the early 1970s. This track was recorded in 1957 and was released as a single.

    Bentine died in ’96….. I remember him doing something o telly when I was a kid and that was certainly after 1954 ;-)
