This smart John Lewis ad depicts a romance between two people from different eras, and shows that the important things in life never really change. It features a cover of an INXS song, performed here by Paloma Faith. The song, Never Tear Us Apart, originally featured on INXS’s 1988 album Kick. Paloma’s new version was specially recorded for the ad. Her latest album was released in May and went to No.2 in the chart on its release. This version of Never Tear Us Apart is now available to order from iTunes.

its a great advert, but palmoas version isnt quite as strong as INXS, and neither is as good as Joe Cockers version from 10 years ago.

I have never heard the INXS version, but love this version by Paloma. I think that John Lewis have produced the best ads of recent years, I could watch them over and over again and never get fed up.

most adverts on tv nowadays are thoroughly annoying, boring, stupid, pointless This makes up for all of them, delightful, beautiful highly watchable and listenable. thank god there are still some advertisement makers who ply their trade to please the public, and well done john lewis
