Advert: Waitrose – Boy and Carrot
Music: The Cinematic Orchestra – To Build A Home
This 2014 TV ad for Waitrose tells the story of a young boy lovingly growing a carrot in his vegetable patch (which presumably means he won’t need to buy pre-packed carrots from supermarkets). It’s a nicely made ad, but it scores zero marks for originality when it comes to the soundtrack selection. The admittedly wonderful To Build A Home by The Cinematic Orchestra has featured, by our reckoning, in at least eight TV ads in recent years, promoting brands from Specsavers to Guinness to Sky TV. The track, which features vocals from Patrick Watson, is from The Cinematic Orchestra’s 2007 album Ma Fleur. You can download To Build A Home from iTunes.
