Welcoming you to the new Ford standard is this ad, soundtracked by School of Language, a side project of Sunderland band Field Music’s David Brewis. Rockist was released in 2007, and has four (count ‘em) parts.
This Nike / Footlocker ad features music from German musician Peter Fox (real name Pierre Baigorry). It’s an instrumental version of his 2008 single Alles Neu, which was also featured on the album Stadtaffe. Neither were released here in the UK. You can hear the vocal version on Peter’s MySpace page – although it has a very different feel to the instrumental (“Euro-rap” perhaps? Anyone else remember DJ Sven and MC Miker G?). If you want the (much preferable) instrumental, you’ll need to track down the 4-track imported CD single. There are several copies on Amazon, but be prepared to pay a hefty price…
This is the curious ad with a couple travelling via a new Fiesta, some dining room chairs a swimming pool, big fake heads, a doll’s house on a beach, nudity in the snow etc. Schwab style themselves as a Dutch / Chinese / Italian pop band, and this grungy / funky track is from their forthcoming album The Schwab Family Saga, out on 20 July. The track is already causing a storm in Canada, where this ad has already aired, and is starting to receive some radio airplay here in the UK. It’s now available from iTunes.
