This Mail on Sunday brand ad, by M&C Saatchi, bigs up the paper’s weekly You magazine. The cover of the Blondie song Sunday Girl was recorded by composer Alex Ball. The vocals are by voice artist Phillipa Alexander of the songwriting duo Chicks With Hits. Debbie Harry has approved the cover, apparently. The Mail has now made the full track available as a free MP3 download.
This weather-based McDonald’s ad uses a piece of music from the late Oliver Postgate’s beloved Smallfilms stop-motion animation series The Clangers. The music was composed by Vernon Elliott, and it’s from an episode called ‘Visiting Friends’. It appears on the Clangers soundtrack CD, and is simply called ‘From “Visiting Friends”.
