The London 2012 Olympics begin on 27 July, and the BBC’s coverage will be soundtracked by Elbow. The Manchester band were commissioned to write the BBC’s Olympic theme, and the suitably thrilling First Steps is the result. The full track is 6 1/2 minutes long, and features vocals from the NovaVox choir (rather than Elbow frontman Guy Garvey). The track will be released for download – watch this space.
