Vodafone 4G – Let’s Go

Advert: Vodafone 4G – Let’s Go
Music 1: Snoop Dogg – Gz and Hustlas iTunes / Amazon
Music 2: DMX – X Gon’ Give It To Ya iTunes / Amazon

Vodafone encourages customers to get out there and live life more boldly in this TV ad from the Grey London agency, with a voiceover from Quadrophenia star Phil Daniels (who also features on the current Virgin Money ad). The ad features two rap tracks. The first is Gz and Hustlas by Snoop Dogg, from his 1993 album Doggystyle. The song samples its backing track from Bernard Wright’s Haboglabotribin’, and as we don’t hear any of Snoop’s vocals in this snippet, this could just as easily be Wright’s 1981 original (or Ray G’s 2001 track Givem’ What They Want, which also samples Haboglabotribin’). The second rap track featured in the ad is X Gon’ Give It To Ya by DMX, from the soundtrack of the 2003 movie Cradle 2 the Grave, in which DMX starred alongside Jet Li. Both tracks are available to download using the links below – be aware that both contain explicit lyrics.
