Sport England launches its second National Lottery-funded This Girl Can TV ad campaign, aiming to encourage more women of all ages to participate in sport. The ad features images of scores of women getting active, set to a reading of poet Maya Angelou reading her 1978 poem Phenomenal Woman, from her collection And Still I Rise. The background music was sourced by Soundtree and composed by former Gossip frontwoman Beth Ditto. UPDATE: The music has been released as the track Oo La La on Beth Ditto’s June 2017 album Fake Sugar. It’s available to download on iTunes.
