The Tesco Christmas advert for 2024, titled “Helping Feed Your Christmas Spirit”, has been widely praised for its emotional and heartwarming narrative. It follows the story of Gary, who rekindles cherished holiday traditions with his grandfather after the loss of his grandmother.
With each memory Gary has of his grandma, and in particular her skill at creating a gingerbread house, we see his surroundings turn into gingerbread. The advert blends magical visuals, such as a gingerbread landscape, with poignant themes of remembrance and togetherness.
