Skoda UK has launched a new advertising campaign called ‘Electric, but Škoda’, which aims to dispel outdated stereotypes about electric vehicle ownership and is intended to be humorous. The model of car featured in the ad is a Skoda Enyaq Coupe Sportline.
Neighbours start rumours and make assumptions about the new family on the street, including that they are part of a cult, that they bought the car using cryptocurrency, and that they probably have their own podcast about kale.
As neighbours approach, we also hear the family being accused of being “eco-warriors” or “tree huggers” due to their electric car. All this before they have even gotten out of their car.
The music playing in the background of this 2025 advert for Skoda electric vehicles is a song called The Lunatics (Have Taken Over the Asylum) and was recorded by the British new wave pop band Fun Boy Three.
