The Box Tops were a 60s Memphis blue-eyed soul group led by Alex Chilton, later of Big Star. Neon Rainbow was a 1967 hit in the US, but failed to trouble the UK charts. Previous single The Letter did make the UK top 5. The group disbanded in 1970, but reunited in the 1990s for live dates, and still occasionally tour.
