Hip hop musicians J Dilla and Madlib are Jaylib and “The Red” comes off the 2003 version of the album ‘Champion Sound’. “The Red” (2003) Contains samples of “Shine On, Straight Arrow” by Cris Williamson.
The 2007 version has a different beat due to sampling issues.
The Red is a reference to to the Max volume level to enjoy the music at it’s best.

1. Champion Sound was released in 2003, not 2007, it was just re-released then in an expanded version.
2. The 2007 version had a different beat due to sample clearance issues, so your links to buy the track are misleading
