This Mail on Sunday brand ad, by M&C Saatchi, bigs up the paper’s weekly You magazine. The cover of the Blondie song Sunday Girl was recorded by composer Alex Ball. The vocals are by voice artist Phillipa Alexander of the songwriting duo Chicks With Hits. Debbie Harry has approved the cover, apparently. The Mail has now made the full track available as a free MP3 download.
Advert: YVES SAINT LAURENT – LA NUIT DE L’HOMME
Music: ISAAC ALBÉNIZ – ASTURIAS ‘SUITE ESPAÑOLA NO. 5′
Originally composed for the piano, this piece of music is also famously played on the guitar. The track on the advert is a commissioned arrangement that is not released. However you can get a piano recording via these Amazon buttons.
Advert: YORKSHIRE TEA – MAKING TIME FOR TEA
Music: JOHN SHUTTLEWORTH – MAKING TIME FOR TEA
Versatile Sheffield singer/songwriter John Shuttleworth stars in this ad, featuring interjections from his manager Ken, and long-suffering wife Mary. There’s also a second ad, which you can see here, featuring the track ‘Tea Time is Me Time’. Both tracks are on John’s Teatime EP, available to download from the Yorkshire Tea website for £3.50. ‘John’ is actually Graham Fellows, who had a hit with Jilted John by Jilted John (‘Gordon is a moron…’) in 1978.
