In 2011 we’ve been celebrating ten years of TV Ad Music, the number one place to find the songs from your favourite UK television adverts.
The website was launched in November 2001, and initially operated in much more reduced circumstances. Back then, the use of music in adverts was still in its infancy, but major brands such as Levi’s and Guinness had started the trend that many other brands decided to follow.
Today, the majority of ads use music, or ‘syncs’. So we’ve gone from posting maybe a handful of ads each month in 2001 to sometimes posting more than 50 each month in 2011.
Since the current incarnation of the site launched in October 2007 we’ve posted 1,200 ads, and there are hundreds more from the older version of the site to be found in the archives.
We’re pleased to say that www.tvadmusic.co.uk has become increasingly popular in recent years. In the 12 months to the end of November 2011, the site had more than 3.6 million pageviews from more than 1.3 million unique visitors. So thanks for your support!
We regularly try to add new and useful features, for example our “Most Wanted” list of the most popular ads. You can also now follow us on Twitter (@TVAdMusic) and join our Facebook Group to keep up to date with all the latest ads posted on the site.
To mark ten years of TV Ad Music we’re going to be posting a series of special features throughout December. First up will be a two-part run-down of the most popular and memorable ads and songs from the past ten years. That will begin next week, and if you have a Spotify account you’ll be able to access a special playlist featuring the tracks.
We’ll also have a Christmas special listing the most popular Christmas ads, plus our regular list of the ten most popular ads of this year. And, of course, we’ll be continuing to post all the latest ads as they hit your TV screen.
We hope you enjoy our ten year celebration, and thanks again for visiting TV Ad Music!
